Novel Study

Historical fiction is important because it allows us to learn about history as if we were there experiencing what the characters are feeling. Historical fiction really draws you into learning more about the topic because to some, history books may be dull and historical fiction can be a great change from that.

By reading historical fiction books (like Disappearing Moon Cafe), I was able to see the small details such as feelings/emotions that are essential in every human life. I was also able to see the secret lifestyles that they had (sexual life with the waitress to conceive a baby). This is important because all of these details can only be seen in novel studies and this makes history so much more interesting by telling it like a story.

History books are like pages and pages of text, while novel studies are like pages of alive characters and emotions that you can relate to. Although facts are essential to learning history, reading paragraphs of these texts may become dull.
